It seems that Mother Nature doesn't like us here in SE Texas anymore. Hurricane Rita caused a lot of havoc but Ike was much worse - especially the flooding - as much as twelve feet of salt water fifteen miles inland.
Your pix are great! Don't know if I'd care much for stomping grapes but it looked like everyone was having a great time.
That goodlooking boy I'm holding is my GREAT GRANDBOY! He belongs to my oldest grandchild - my daughters daughter. Good looking boy, don't you think? Looks like his GGD
It's time to get busy finishing some bathroom cabinets. I'm getting close to finishing rebuilding my house after Rita - Oh! happy day!
Talk later.

I too, am partial to The Reds but there are also so many whites to experience. Roses are popular in the warmer summer months, especially when chilled for most.
Tip: Last month during our Annual Balloon and Wine Festival,Dr. Bill Filsinger, owner of Filsinger Winery, had me pouring "tastes" from his Merlot bottles chilled in ice water between pouring each guest. Refreshing for such a hot day. Also surprising for those that had never thought of chilling a red.
Please go to www.TemeculaWines.org/ and read about our various wineries. We have other wineries that are not members of the wine growers association, mainly because they are "Boutique Wineries" meaning: mom & pop wineries/small producers/custom hand made wines. You will see wine list and prices per winery that can help you be prepared in advance for your selections, as when you arrive at a new winery their wine list choices can be overwhelming. (Kind of like a kid in a candy store!)
You may want to start thinking about some of our other NEW, Wine Related Journey's in the future such as Winter Break, Laughlin, Neveda, Jan. 2009. We have a Wine Cruise over Valentine's Week- Feb. 12-16, 2009- San Diego, Ca. to Cabo San Lucus, Mexico (4 days) on Carnival's Elation. We are also working on a European Tour to possibly Italy, for the fall of 2009, so gather all your Traveling Vino Friends and let's
pool our adventurous thoughts and travel the world with Wine,Arts,Culinary And Golf Fun.....Did I mention we have some great golf courses here in Temecula?
Let me know if I can assist you in any way,
Sandy Neal
Thanks for all the info on Temecula. We have signed up for the September 12-14 trip. Our favorite wines are the Cabernets, Merlots, and Sirahs.

On this trip, you will visit a Mediterranean Winery for a casual evening that includes dinner. Saturday Night we visit another winery for laughter and fun as we grape stomp, barbq and enjoy our new friends. Please feel comfortable to wear something you can get grape juice on if you plan to stomp! Or even tippy-toe through the grapes. Our Old Town Temecula is full of history with antique shops and a museum. You might even get a kick out of visiting Our State Of The Art, Award Winning, Hands On Children's Museum. Strolling the streets will reveal art galleries as well. Don't be surprised to see some sort of western theme or other entertainment on the streets as well, including marvelous old cars and beautiful motorcycles. (People like to visit us) We are a mix of old, modern, agriculture (avocados/citrus + ), horse ranches, including some famous race horses, movie stars, filming crews and...well, you just never know who's standing next to you in their blue jeans. We are a warm climit most of the time, since we are only 65 miles north of San Diego so I suggest you dress in layers and go for the comfort....we locals sure do!
And of course a jacket is always good to have handy especially in The Barrel Rooms at The Wineries.
I invite you to google......Temecula,Ca. for our City Info.,Events,Chamber and Tourism Bureau.
I look forward to meeting you upon your arrival. Sandy Neal
We would love to go to Tumecula, September 12-14. Do you have a pickup in Sun City West at the Sundome? Do we phone to make reservations for my husband and me? Can we specify twin beds and no smoking rooms? Thanks for any info you can give us since we will be first-timers with your organization.
Carole
We hope to have them here in Temecula soon.
Come to Temecula with the group when they come.
We'll drink wine at our Temecula wineries and watch them dance the night away.
Maybe they'll even give us some lessons. Now wouldn't that be a riot!!
hahah Hey, but why not? Sandy Neal
